2008 Scion tC

What would happen if a Japanese carmaker built an interpretation of the classic 1949 Mercury lead-sled hot rod? The Scion Fuse concept, that's what. The Fuse's low stance, chopped roofline, and sinister expression make it a pretty arresting car to behold, even with its Chrysler 300-style vertical taillights. Developed and built in California, the Fuse is likely a preview of the next-generation tC coupe: Scion discusses the concept's "intention to expand the performance envelope among affordable, entry-level sport coupes."

2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster

In their re-interpretation of the Roadster, the designers of the Lamborghini Centro Stile have remained true to the original style principles of purism, sportiness and functionality. As with the Coupé it has now assumed a more aggressive appearance, a substantial influence being the new front and rear bumpers. On the latter there is a new rear diffuser, in which the exhaust system is integrated within a tailpipe.

As with the Coupé the new 6.5 litre (6.496 cm3) 60° V-engine and 640 PS (471 kW) at 8,000 min-1 is now used also in the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster. At 6,000 min-1 the 12-cylinder engine reaches the maximum torque of 660 Nm. Naturally the Lamborghini Murciélago meets all the current valid European and North American emission standards.

Audi R8

The R8 brings Audi into the exotic sports car segment with its mid-engine design and six-figure price tag. The R8 is powered by a normally aspirated 4.2-liter V-8 that makes 420 horsepower and 317 pounds-feet of torque. A traditional six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed sequential manual transmission are offered. Rear-biased all-wheel drive is standard. Audi says the R8, which weighs about 3,600 pounds, can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and tops out at 187 mph. Though road-going performance is the R8's primary mission, it also comes with its share of luxury amenities like heated, power-operated leather and Alcantara seats, automatic air conditioning and a six-CD stereo.

2009 Mazda RX-8 Review

Introduction
It's been 40 years since Mazda released its first rotary-engine production model, a twin-rotor coupe called Cosmo Sport in mid-1967. By the early 1970s, the rotary seemed poised to conquer the automotive world. That never happened for a long list of reasons, but the lightweight rotary engine found a purpose powering a delightful series of light, nimble, high-revving Mazda sports-touring cars. Over the past four decades, Mazda has manufactured more than 1.9 million rotary-engine vehicles. And we're glad it did.

Lexus LX 570

The engine and the six-speed automatic are pulled straight from Toyota's Tundra and Land Cruiser. The old LX 470 made only 268 hp from its 4.7-liter V8, barely enough to move the 5590-pound SUV around. The new 5995-pound LX 570 goes up to 5.7 liters and 383 hp. Torque increases roughly 23 percent, to 403 lb-ft, enough to tow 8500 pounds. Go ahead, buy that bigger boat. We towed 8000 pounds at the press intro, and the 570 handled it with dignity and aplomb.

2005 Spyker C8 Spyder

Spyker is a name that's been around since the early 1900s, with a racing heritage in automobiles and the manufacture of airplanes. The Spyker C8 Spyder is designed to show the company's association with aerocraft, hence the analog gauges, the remote ignition key, the red toggle switch to activate the electronics, and of course, the manual starter button.
What makes the Spyker C8 unique among exotic cars besides its looks, is the fully tunable suspension system, so you can set the performance handling specs to your unique driving style.

Ferrari Testarossa

The Testarossa had a sensational V12 engine, made a noise that could make grown men tremble and, on a good day, might even hit 180mph. It was also relatively easy to drive, with the proviso that you had to watch out for the wide tail if you were on a ten-tenths run.

Ferrari Enzo

The body is strikingly similar to the Pininfarina designed Rossa concept which debuted last year. Pininfarina have designed this car such that no rear wing is neccessary. The undertray and front ducts generate sufficient downforce to keep the Enzo stable up to speeds of 220mph

Ferrari 360 Modena

The all-aluminum, 4-cam, 40-valve V-8 engine is the only important component carried over from the F355, but it has been extensively redesigned. It is one of the very few road-car engines featuring titanium connecting rods. The 180-degree crankshaft has been stroked by 2 mm, increasing the capacity by 90 cc, to 3586 cc. This has helped raise the maximum power by 20 bhp, to 400. Maximum torque was also increased from 267 lb-ft. at 6000 rpm to 275 at 4500, with 90 percent available from 4150 to 8500 rpm.

Ferrari F430

The F430's light, compact 4308cc engine is completely new and gives the car its name. It punches out 490bhp and delivers a specific power output of 114bhp/litre and 343lb.ft of torque. Needless to say, performance is outstanding: acceleration from zero to 62mph (100km/h) in 4 seconds and a maximum speed in excess of 196mph (315km/h).

Ferrari F50

The F50's engine is unquestionably the core of the car, with 4.7 litres, the high reving 5 valves per cylinder V12 is capable of a record-breaking specific output of 109.2 BHP/litre, eclipsing the F355's 108.7 BHP/litre to be the most efficient normally aspirated engine. Combining with the light weight of 1230 kg and close-ratio 6 speeds box (which compensates for the less impressive torque of 347 ft-lb), 0-60mph can be achieved in only 3.6sec

Ferrari F40

The F40 was developed from the 288 GTO via the 288 Evoluzione. The latest leaps in aerodynamics gave it an aggressively angular shape (by Pininfarina), dominated by massive scoops and wings. A new generation of tyres gave it a low, super-wide stance. Lightweight materials and new construction methods helped shed a substantial 135kg.
